Templefields Multi- Academy Trust

The Structure of TMAT

In line with all academies, Templefields Multi-Academy Trust (TMAT) is legally a not for profit company limited by guarantee and an exempt Charity. TMAT came into being on 1st October 2017, TMAT consists of three primary schools / academies – Fawbert & Barnard’s, Harlowbury and Tany’s Dell.

The Governance structure for TMAT is determined by its Memorandum and Articles of Association, its Master & Supplementary Funding Agreements with the Secretary of State for Education and the Department for Education (DfE) guidance on good governance within Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs).

The TMAT structure differs slightly from the standard DfE model in that Co-operative Memorandum and Articles of Association have been adopted, which provides for a wider community interest involvement in the operation of TMAT via the Forum group.
